RE:People,
When Hurricane Irene came through Connecticut we had no idea the damage it would exact. We were luckier than some and not as lucky as others. We lost power for 6 days, but had minimal damage except for the beautiful 100+ year old maple that fell in the front yard. We are incredibly lucky it fell the way it did as it could have done significant damage to our home or any one of three neighbors homes.
Without power for so long reminded me of "the good old days". When we were kids playing outside until dark, reading, not glued to the television, eating by candle light, making fires to cook over and getting to know the neighbors and finding out how really great they are! But what did I RE:Purpose in all of this? Well, what could you do with a huge tree in your front yard....make firewood for you and those great neighbors.....and that we did. None of us will go without wood this winter and probably next year, as well.
I hope all of you or your friends and love ones fared well during the storm and I wish you firewood!
Lindsay
